OUR COMMITMENT
As part of Spark Education Trust, Chandlers Ridge is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
We recognise that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) have an equal right to a high-quality education. We work in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and follow the graduated approach of Assess, Plan, Do, Review to ensure provision is carefully matched to individual need.
Who to Contact
If you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please contact enquiries@chandlersridge.org.uk and make it clear that your email is directed to our SENDCo, Mrs Kate Cobbold.
You can also arrange a meeting through the school office.

How We Identify and Support Pupils with SEND
We support children across four broad areas of need:
- Communication and Interaction
- Cognition and Learning
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health
- Sensory and/or Physical Needs
We may identify additional needs through a range of methods:
- Concerns raised by parents, carers or teachers
- Limited progress over time
- Changes in behaviour or engagement
- Assessment information
Where appropriate, pupils may initially be monitored before being placed on the SEND register. If SEND support is required, this is always discussed with parents or carers and agreed together.
Individual support plans outline:
- What is important to the child
- The support in place
- Clear, measurable targets (SMART targets)
- Plans are reviewed termly
How We Work with Parents and Pupils
We believe strong partnerships with families are essential.
Parents and carers are:
- Involved in planning support
- Invited to review meetings
- Kept informed about progress
- Encouraged to share insights about their child
Pupils are supported to understand their targets and contribute to decisions about their learning wherever appropriate.
