About Ofsted
Ofsted inspects schools to evaluate the quality of their provision in a range of areas. In the current Ofsted framework (published November 2025), schools receive a ‘report card’ after every inspection, indicating outcomes in 8 areas. Safeguarding is judged using a ‘met/not met’ criteria; however, all other areas are graded.
