Friends of Chandlers Ridge (PTA)
The Friends of Chandlers Ridge (the ‘Friends’) is a registered charity.
It is a parent-teacher association, made up of an extraordinary group of dedicated volunteers, who work tirelessly to raise funds that enhance school life and provide additional opportunities for our children. Through events, activities and community support, they play a vital role in enriching experiences and helping every child thrive and flourish.
What kind of events does the PTA organise?
The Friends do a stunning job of organising events which enrich children’s primary school experience as well as raise funds for school:
- Christmas Fair
- Summer Fair
- Ice Cream Sales
- Discos
- Bake Sales
- Raffles
- School Lottery
- Competitions
- Donations
How can I get involved?
We would love to welcome you to the Friends as a volunteer. You may want a committee position to get involved in the running of things, or you may wish to volunteer your time for specific events. Either way, you are very welcome!
Contact a member of the committee and express your interest. Their chair, Jade Oxley, is often around school at drop-off/collection times. Alternatively, email the committee on friends@chandlersridge.org.uk. The Friends has a WhatsApp group to keep everybody updated and to manage organisational matters.
Fundraising Projects
Last year, the committee raised a staggering £20,000 for the school! This is currently being spent on three projects:
- Improving playground resources for KS1 and KS2 children across school
- Improving library provision to further embed a culture of reading
- Developing a sensory room to support children with additional social and emotional needs in their regulation.
This year, the Friends are raising money for
- Invest in additional outdoor resources for Early Years
- Contribute towards the creation of ‘The Hive’ – an alternative, calming learning space which can be used by children when needed
- Continue to invest in library provision.
